Vintage Italian dressing table from the mid-1970s, complete with its original cylindrical ottoman.
A space-age modern piece of furniture, characterized by a curved band that wraps around the countertop and continues into the backrest, framing the mirror: a formal solution typical of the early 1970s, when dressing tables no longer had a linear design and the mirror was integrated into the structure.
The composition comprises a central body with a curved top and a double lateral recess, two columns with three drawers each with smooth fronts and contrasting decorative panels, and a tilting oval mirror with a matching frame. The central compartment houses the cylindrical ottoman upholstered in red velvet, which serves as a seat and visually closes the unit: a solution designed for small spaces, very popular in Italian furniture of the decade.
The pouf measures 53 cm in diameter and 40 cm in height.
The piece is made of white lacquered wood, and its surfaces show signs of wear consistent with its age, though these do not affect the structure. The mirror is intact, with signs of age on the frame; the mirror hinges are functional, and the glass remains aligned. The pouf's upholstery is solid color, with a small tear. It is recommended that the padding and upholstery be replaced.
It is an ideal piece for vintage-style bedrooms, second homes, B&Bs, and vacation homes with period furnishings.
