This is a lovely vintage 1847 Rogers Bros. "First Love" silverplate olive/pickle serving set, made by International Silver Company. The First Love pattern was introduced in 1937 and features its recognizable floral and geometric decoration. I am told Rosalind Russell, the American actress, suggested the pattern name. This matching set consists of a pierced/slotted serving spoon and two-tine serving fork. Both pieces are clearly marked "1847 ROGERS BROS IS" and "First Love".
Approximately 6 1/2" long; 56 grams combined weight; silverplate. The pierced spoon features an attractive radiating cutout design, while the fork has an unusual elongated two-tine form. The matching handles retain crisp decorative details.
