Pair of late 20th-century bergère armchairs upholstered in a white-and-brown striped silk-satin. Down-filled seat cushions, padded armrests, cabriole legs, and backs finished in natural raw silk. The upholstery is in very good vintage condition with no pulls, holes, marks, or soil.
The sturdy walnut frames are structurally sound, with minimal wear consistent with age. Also, they are very comfortable.
Overall, the design of the chairs nods to classic French (Louis XV) while feeling modern and tailored. As is, they can work in contemporary, transitional, or traditional interiors. Or, recover them to suit your personal taste.
