Handcrafted vintage jewelry or keepsake box by Nature Turns, a Colorado maker known for creating sculptural boxes and decorative objects from natural aspen wood.
This unusual piece is constructed to preserve the organic character of the wood, including visible knots, branch formations, varied grain, and natural irregularities. The front features multiple individually fitted drawers with simple branch-style wooden pulls, giving the piece the character of both a small jewelry chest and a puzzle box.
The underside retains its original Nature Turns – Creations in Aspen Wood label and red felt covering.
A wonderfully rustic and sculptural example of late-20th-century American studio craft, well suited to a collection of folk art, handcrafted wood objects, cabin or Western interiors, or as a distinctive jewelry and keepsake box.
