A sculptural full-size bed in richly figured rosewood veneer, attributed to Gilbert Rohde for Herman Miller based on its design and its longstanding association with a matching vanity from the same bedroom group.
The bed features a gracefully curved footboard with geometric veneer patterning, a streamlined headboard, and the distinctive forms characteristic of early American modern furniture.
Markings and Attribution: The headboard, footboard and side rails have been closely inspected. No maker's mark, label or signature was found on the bed itself. The matching vanity, which has remained with the bed as part of the bedroom group, bears a Herman Miller foil identification plaque identifying Gilbert Rohde as designer. The bed and vanity are being offered separately at Chairish's request.
Companion pieces: The original matching Gilbert Rohde for Herman Miller rosewood vanity is also being offered separately by the seller, along with an associated vintage mirror. Please contact the seller through Chairish for information regarding the companion pieces.
