The bronze chandelier with an alabaster bowl and torch lights is an exceptionally decorative light fixture from the period around 1900, when artistic metalwork and the production of luxurious interior lighting were developing at a high level in central europe. This type of chandelier was intended primarily for representative bourgeois interiors, villas or salons, where the combination of bronze, alabaster and decorative glass created elegant and atmospheric lighting. The dominant element is a large hemispherical bowl made of natural alabaster with a distinctive stone pattern. Alabaster was highly valued at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries for its ability to transmit light and create a soft, warm and evenly diffused glow. When lit, the stone pattern is beautifully highlighted and gives the fixture an exceptionally impressive character. The edge of the alabaster bowl is set with a richly decorated bronze wreath with stylized acanthus motifs, which are typical of late historicism. Four bronze arms are symmetrically arranged around the bowl, ending with torches with flame-shaped frosted glass shades. This motif of stylized torches continues the tradition of candle lighting and is one of the characteristic decorative elements of chandeliers from around 1900. Inside the alabaster bowl, there are four additional light points, which enhance the effect of illuminated stone and create a very pleasant atmosphere. The combination of external torch lights and internal lighting was typical of more luxurious lighting fixtures in bourgeois interiors at the turn of the century. The hanging structure is made of robust bronze chains that converge in a decorative crown with plastic plant motifs. The lower part of the chandelier is finished with a decorative bronze pendant in the shape of a pine cone, a motif often used in decorative metalwork of late historicism. Based on the style of the bronze ornaments, the construction and the type of glass shades, this chandelier can most likely be classified as a production of central european workshops of austria-hungary, probably from the vienna area or northern bohemia, which were important centers of production of high-quality historic lighting around 1900. The chandelier is in very good condition and has been professionally equipped with new electrical installations. The power cable is made in the period style with fabric braiding, while the internal wiring is modernly made in copper. The torch lights use candle bulbs with an e14 thread up to 40 w and in the central part of the chandelier there are four additional light points with an e27 thread up to 40 w.
