Representative print based on the … Read more The Flower Girl (after Bartolomé Esteban Murillo), 19th century, steel engraving/stipple on paper, unknown engraver. Representative print based on the famous painting “The Flower Girl (Spring)” by the Spanish master Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (1617–1682), now in the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London. The composition corresponds exactly: a girl sitting by a pillar, with a rose in a turban cap and with roses spread out in the folds of a patterned shawl; a landscape in the background. Original period gilded frame with a nice natural patina. Paper with traces of age and isolated stains, overall good, decorative condition, ready to hang. Identification of the original: Murillo, The Flower Girl (c. 1665–1670). Age: probably the second half of the 19th century (c. 1850–1890). Technique: steel engraving/stipple on paper.
