A striking vintage 1980s Sun 89 sculptural plaster floor lamp, featuring a tall, architectural column with layered horizontal bands, a rounded pedestal base, and an organically textured matte finish.
The substantial plaster form has a beautifully sculptural presence, balancing postmodern simplicity with the tactile, almost primitive quality of hand-finished plaster. The original tapered fabric shade adds a warm, understated contrast to the substantial white/off-white body.
The lamp is marked “SUN 89” on the base, consistent with other documented Sun 89 plaster lighting from the 1980s.
A fantastic statement piece for a postmodern, contemporary, minimalist, Hollywood Regency, or eclectic interior. At nearly five feet tall even without the shade, it has serious architectural presence.
