A large French Art Deco enameled glass vase by Maison Leune, dating to the 1920s. Standing 14.2 inches tall, it has a rounded lower body measuring approximately 5.5 inches in diameter, gently tapering to a 2.25-inch mouth.
The warm saffron-yellow ground has a fine, granular texture, contrasting with the raised enamel decoration. Colorful birds perch on coral-red branches amid green and plum foliage that continues around the vase. Blue and violet plumage, layered leaves, and delicate gold-colored accents give the design depth and detail.
Maison Leune was a Parisian glass decorating firm known for its enameled vases and decorative objects. During the 1920s, the firm worked with glass blanks supplied by Daum and employed Auguste Heiligenstein as artistic director from 1923 to 1926. His designs helped shape Leune’s distinctive use of colorful enamels and stylized botanical and bird motifs. The lower body bears the “LEUNE” signature within a cartouche.
