Charming vintage studio art pottery bowl featuring a whimsical hand-painted portrait of a young woman with dramatic dark bouffant hair, expressive oversized eyes, and delicate facial features, surrounded by vibrant blue flowers and green foliage.
The illustration evokes the distinctive big-eyed girl artwork popular during the 1960s and 1970s, lending the piece a wonderful mid-century modern and retro aesthetic.
The shallow, gently flared bowl features a soft blue-gray glazed interior, colorful hand-painted decoration, and a natural gray-beige ceramic exterior with visible concentric pottery wheel markings. The underside bears a handwritten “Kerry” signature, although the artist has not been definitively identified.
