Stephens employs fluid brushwork, expressive architectural details, and a sophisticated palette of muted blues, lavender, soft pinks, ochre, and earthy greens to capture the atmosphere and character of the landscape.

The watercolor displays a beautiful balance of architectural precision and loose, impressionistic color, giving the composition a sense of movement and depth.
