A remnant of the old pagan mythology in the form of an anatomically accurate heart, with double raised border and nubs at the sixth point. A curious throwback to Viking pagan religion, elements of which were blended with Christianity. Such "transitional" elements were common and persist even today in the form of superstitions and beliefs in the occult. The form is unmistakably Viking, with the surround identical to earlier examples and the heart form found in Viking period jewelry as well.

It is made by the lost wax technique and thinner than its pure Viking predecessors. The form draws on both the cusped and naturalistic heart tradition and employs the saltire or St. Andrew's Cross.
