Dimensions: H 32.5” × W 42” × D 18”
This restored two-tier serving cart combines cypress wood construction with a soft green satin lacquer finish and decorative gold leaf accents. Fluted legs, ornamental reliefs, and an upper metal gallery rail give the piece an elegant Louis XVI character.
The marble inset features pink, white, gray, and green tones. The green lacquer was carefully selected to complement the green hues within the stone. The painted finish was left without an antiquing patina, while the gold leaf received a light patina to soften its appearance and highlight the decorative details.
During restoration, the upper gallery rail was polished, and the original caster wheels were retained and lightly cleaned. A protective Plexiglas sheet was added to the lower shelf to help protect the painted surface from bottles and other serving accessories.
This distinctive piece can serve as a drinks cart or dining room server, bringing a harmonious combination of color, natural stone, and gilt ornament to an elegant Palm Beach interior.
