Designed in 1952 by Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel, the Model 83 Lounge Chair is a stunning expression of Danish Modern design. Its distinctive semicircular back flows gracefully into integrated armrests, creating an enveloping silhouette that feels both sculptural and inviting. Gentle curves soften its clean lines, offering generous comfort within a compact footprint.
Originally developed for the 1952 “Contemporary Furniture, Home Equipment” exhibition in Copenhagen, the Model 83 reflects the Ditzels’ thoughtful approach to form and everyday living. Recently reupholstered in Maharam Firma 466582-037 Gamma wool fabric, this example pairs beautifully tailored upholstery with timeless proportions. An elegant accent for a living room, reading nook, or bedroom, it brings warmth and enduring Scandinavian character to any interior.
