This rare pair of 'Calypso C35' lounge chairs, designed in 1979 by renowned Italian designer Vittorio Introini and manufactured by Saporiti Italia in the 1980s, is an outstanding example of postmodern Italian high-end design from the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The chairs captivate with their avant-garde silhouette:
The organically curved, arched seat shell flows seamlessly into the striking side panels.
A particular eye-catcher is the rounded backrest, adorned with decorative quilted stitching.
The chairs are fully upholstered in deep black, high-quality leather. Thanks to the generous padding, the chairs offer exceptional seating comfort. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
