The piece is richly colored, with a deep blue background on the neck and lid, and a vibrant crimson red body.

The vessel is heavily adorned with intricate, raised wirework and colorful enamel. The domed lid features an openwork, pierced design of green scrolling vines and pink blossoms, topped with a bright blue guardian lion (or Qilin) finial. The sides are flanked by two dynamic, green scaled dragon handles with golden heads and orange tails. The front of the body is centered with a prominent, raised rectangular seal or geometric motif, flanked by two small, golden figures in a kneeling, paying homage position. The piece rests on three stout, stylized legs with beast-face masks.

A recessed rectangular seal containing four characters is visible on the flat underside of the base. This heavy, eye-catching piece serves as a stunning decorative accent for a mantel, shelf, or collector's display.
