Expertly executed, the composition brings together a rich tapestry of coastal elements resting on weathered driftwood: a rustic vintage hurricane lantern, vibrant red and blue net-wrapped glass fishing floats, a delicate starfish, an iridescent abalone shell, smooth seashells, and intricately textured fishing nets.

The artist masterfully plays with light, shadow, and tactile textures—contrasting the weathered metal of the lantern with the translucent colored glass and natural earthy tones of the sea elements. Housed in a handsome dark wood frame, this evocative piece brings warmth, character, and timeless seaside charm to any study, coastal retreat, or traditional interior.
Irv Wyner (1904–2002) was an American artist, painter, and renowned background artist.

While he is most famous in animation history for his work as a background painter on classic mid-20th-century theatrical shorts for Warner Bros. (working extensively with Friz Freleng's unit), Disney, Walter Lantz, and Chuck Jones, he also created fine art, landscape paintings, still lifes, and pin-ups. His traditional paintings and animation production backgrounds are collected and featured in galleries and auction houses.

Signed “Wyner” at the lower right. Irv Wyner (1904–2002) sometimes signed his works using only the surname “Wyner,” as documented in Heritage Auctions’ catalog descriptions. However, this painting’s attribution to Irv Wyner remains unconfirmed. See less
