PLEASE NOTE: THIS DRESSER IS MISSING ONE DRAWER. The top left drawer is gone and the opening is empty, as shown in the photos. The remaining drawers are present. The price reflects the missing drawer.
A vintage French Provincial long, low dresser by John Widdicomb of Grand Rapids, Michigan. It has a serpentine front with a center stack of drawers flanked by wide drawers on each side, scrolled painted details, dark original pulls, a walnut-toned top, and cabriole legs. The maker's stamp is on the piece.
Maker: John Widdicomb, Grand Rapids, Michigan
Era: mid-20th century, estimated circa 1950s to 1960s (age is an estimate)
Style: French Provincial
Dimensions: 71" W x 21" D x 33.5" H
Condition: original, unrestored finish with age wear, as shown in the photos. One drawer is missing (top left). A woodworker could make a replacement drawer to restore it to full use, or it could be left open as a shelf. Please review all photos closely, as they are part of the description.
This dresser matches my other John Widdicomb listings: a tall chest, a king headboard and a mirror in the same French Provincial cream and gilt style.
