A vintage French Provincial king-size headboard by John Widdicomb of Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a gilt scroll and circle openwork crest and a cream painted face with painted details. A metal "Made by John Widdicomb" plate is attached. This is the headboard only, with no rails, footboard or posts. Hardware for mounting is not included.
Maker: John Widdicomb, Grand Rapids, Michigan
Era: mid-20th century, estimated circa 1950s to 1960s (age is an estimate)
Style: French Provincial
Dimensions: 79.75" W x 38.5" H x 2.5" thick
Size: the width is consistent with a king bed (not confirmed, please check your bed frame)
Condition: original, unrestored finish with age wear. The finish is worn, and appears stripped in places, as shown in the photos. Please review all photos closely, as they are part of the description.
This headboard matches my other John Widdicomb listings: a tall chest, a long dresser (missing one drawer) and a mirror in the same French Provincial cream and gilt style.
