This beautifully expressive sculpture depicts Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, seated in the relaxed "Royal Ease" posture (lalitasana).
The figure is richly adorned with intricate silver-toned jewelry, a beaded necklace, and a tall ornate crown.
The exposed skin and rocky throne are finished in polished gold gilt, while the flowing robes are vividly painted in deep blue and accented with a striking red sash and green celestial scarves.
The throne is exquisitely modeled with blooming red lotus flowers, green leaves, and stylized waves. To the figure's side rests a small vase and a sutra box. This dynamic and colorful piece is a captivating focal point for a meditation space or a refined collection of Asian art.
