This is a beautifully decorated vintage porcelain lidded bowl (or tea cup), crafted in the classic Chinese Famille Rose (Fencai) style.
The bowl features a flared rim and a matching domed lid topped with a distinctive, gilded finial shaped like a curved stem or ruyi handle. The exterior and the lid are vividly painted with a vibrant "butterflies and flowers" (Die Lian Hua) motif against a pristine white ground. The design includes large, intricately detailed butterflies in shades of orange, green, blue, and purple, flitting amongst colorful blooming flowers and leafy vines.
The rim and foot are finished with a delicate gold line, and the interior rim of the bowl features a subtle geometric border. The underside bears a six-character apocryphal reign mark in underglaze blue reading "Da Qing Qian Long Nian Zhi" (Made in the Qianlong Reign of the Great Qing). This elegant piece is perfect for display or for serving tea.
