This is a charming matching pair of vintage porcelain cups (or small bowls), crafted in the traditional Chinese Famille Rose (Fencai) style.
The cups feature a deep, rounded form with a slightly flared rim and a flat base. The exterior is beautifully painted with a vibrant "Nine Peaches and Five Bats" (Jiu Tao Wu Fu) motif. The design showcases branches laden with large, ripe peaches in shades of yellow and red, surrounded by green leaves and delicate pink blossoms. Small, stylized red bats (fu) are painted among the peaches. In Chinese culture, the peach is a symbol of longevity, and the bat is a homophone for "good fortune," making this combination a classic auspicious motif representing "blessings and longevity."
The interiors are finished in a plain, glossy white glaze. The underside of the base bears a six-character apocryphal reign mark in underglaze blue reading "Da Qing Yong Zheng Nian Zhi" (Made in the Yongzheng Reign of the Great Qing). These delicate and visually striking cups are perfect for serving tea, or as decorative accents on a vanity or shelf.
