Description:
A beautiful antique oil on canvas painting depicting the "Madonna del Granduca," hand-painted after the original c. 1505 High Renaissance masterpiece by Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio). This striking academic study features genuine freehand brushwork, capturing the iconic composition with rich impasto details and a soft chiaroscuro technique.
The reverse retains its original period hand-lettered paper label affixed to the wooden stretcher bars reading "Madonna del granduca (Raffaelo)." The canvas is mounted on a traditional keyed wooden stretcher frame, indicative of late 19th-century construction. Housed in a complementary dark wooden frame with a distressed reddish undertone finish.
- Medium: Oil on Canvas

Condition:
Good antique condition overall with beautiful historic character and a tight canvas. Please note two minor condition issues consistent with age: there is one small, isolated area of stable paint loss/flaking on the lower center front portion of the canvas (visible in close-up photos). Additionally, the classic wood frame shows heavy, rustic age wear and chipping to the dark finish, exposing the beautiful red terracotta undercoat beneath. The remaining paint layer is stable. Please review all high-resolution photos for close-up details of the texture, frame wear, and backing.

It exhibits two minor condition issues consistent with its age and history. Second, the classic wood frame shows heavy, rustic age wear, scuffs, and chipping to the dark top coat, which beautifully reveals the reddish terracotta undercoat beneath.
