Associated with the Foulon artistic workshops in Burgundy, France, this distinctive piece celebrates the traditions of French decorative craftsmanship and the refined rustic elegance of mid-century design.

The Meilleur Ouvrier de France distinction is one of France's highest honours for master craftspeople, recognising outstanding technical expertise, precision and artistic excellence. The original double-sided red wax-style workshop seal remains attached to one of the handles, providing valuable evidence of the tray's provenance.

The tray features a beautifully grained wooden surface with a warm honey-brown finish, gently curved edges and unusual sculptural handles formed from naturally twisting, gnarled wood. These organic handles give the piece an almost sculptural quality, contrasting with the smooth, carefully finished central serving surface.

Decorative dark edging and slender metal retaining rails provide additional character, while four small wooden feet elevate the tray slightly above the table surface.
