This is the higher-grade Stiffel softback build: silk shantung stretched over a wire frame with a fabric lining inside, rather than a styrene or cardboard lining, giving the shade a softer glow and a more refined, tailored finish. The tall, deep drum proportions make it an elegant choice for a table or floor lamp, finished with thin gold piping at the top and bottom rims for a subtle, polished accent. It is fitted with a dropped spider fitter, whose arms dip down so the washer sits below the top rim, and the washer is marked STIFFEL. One shade only. Measurements: 14 in diameter × 18.5 in tall; spider (harp) fitter. Condition: very good vintage — the silk is clean and bright, with a few faint small age spots inside the lining near the top rim and light age patina on the fitter. See less
