Original 1986 abstract monotype by American artist Howard Hersh, titled Drawing Lesson (2). Signed and dated “H. Hersh ’86” in pencil, this large work dates to the early years of Hersh's professional career in Santa Fe and features a deep blue-purple field punctuated by expressive red, turquoise, yellow and blue marks. Its large scale and graphic composition make it a striking statement piece for a modern, eclectic or art-focused interior. The work is presented under glass with a wide mat and slim polished Nielsen metal frame; the existing frame and glass show substantial wear and would benefit from reframing.
