forged heavy-weight iron with pivoting hinges. It may have been made by Ideal Register and Metallic Furniture Co. of Detroit, an early American manufacturing company during the late 1890's and early 1900's, specializing in high quality metal furniture, registers (ventilation grates), iron fencing, and commercial hardware. They made similar looking freestanding mirrors for tailor shops. Very rare and one-of-a-kind.
