This is an exquisite vintage wooden box, crafted from rich rosewood (Huali wood) with a beautiful, warm grain. The box is masterfully decorated with intricate mother-of-pearl (shell) inlay, a traditional Asian craft technique that creates a stunning iridescent effect.
The lid features a lovely scene of birds perched among blooming plum blossoms and peonies, while the front panel is adorned with additional floral and bird motifs. The box is finished with a dark metal latch and lock plate, and constructed with traditional dovetail joints at the corners. The interior is lined with a soft, patterned fabric and features a fitted tray with multiple compartments, making it perfect for storing jewelry, keepsakes, or small treasures. It is a beautiful piece of functional art that would add a touch of elegance to any vanity or display shelf.
