This expressive work depicts a female figure emerging from a vibrant composition of pinks, lavender, turquoise, green, and soft yellow. The artist uses loose, energetic brushwork and layered color to create an atmospheric portrait that balances recognizable figurative elements with abstraction.

The subject’s softly defined features and striking blue eyes emerge from the surrounding color, giving the painting a wonderful sense of depth and movement. The pastel palette and expressive application of paint make this a particularly engaging piece of original artwork.

Presented on stretched canvas with a narrow frame. The reverse bears a large handwritten signature reading “Sylvia Rubin.” The artist’s identity and date of execution have not been independently verified. See less
