an exceptional extendable dining table made of oak, crafted in the 1960s by skovmand & andersen in denmark. The square tabletop with its generously rounded corners appears almost circular – a captivating form between square and circle, rarely found in danish dining tables.

skovmand & andersen was one of the most respected danish furniture manufacturers of the post-war period, producing designs by stylists such as kai kristiansen and arne hovmand-olsen. Through the importer moreddi, the tables also gained widespread popularity in the usa. Most known examples of this model are made of teak – the oak version is considerably rarer.

the interplay between the tabletop and frame is particularly successful: the rounded, tapered legs blend seamlessly into the tabletop frame, creating a smooth, flowing line. A solid wood edging frame surrounds the tabletop, forming a beautiful, softly profiled edge. With the two 50 cm extension leaves, the table extends to approximately 215 cm, comfortably seating eight to ten people.

the table has been completely restored. The oak displays a vibrant, clear grain and a warm, honey-colored hue.

condition: very good vintage condition – fully restored, stable, and fully functional. A rare danish dining table for sophisticated interiors.
