Barcelona Chair, designed in 1929 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe together with Lilly Reich and manufactured by Knoll International. Mies van der Rohe, the last director of the Bauhaus and one of the most important architects of the 20th century, created the chair for the German Pavilion at the Barcelona International Exposition, where it was intended to serve as seating for the Spanish royal couple. To this day, the design is produced by Knoll in its original form and is considered one of the great icons of modern design.

The elegantly curved, X-shaped frame made of high-gloss chrome-plated flat steel supports seat and back cushions with the characteristic grid of individually quilted, piped leather panels. The armchair is upholstered in Knoll's soft, full-grain Venezia leather in a rich chocolate brown, which lends the strict geometry a warm, inviting feel.

Its authenticity is fully documented: The armchair bears a Knoll serial number, and Knoll labels are located under the cushion and on the chrome leg, where the label is still protected by the original film. The Knoll certificate of authenticity is also included.

Condition: Display model in mint condition – no signs of wear, leather flawless. There is only a tiny imperfection in the chrome on the rear sled base. This piece has an attribution mark,
