The cabinet rests on a cross base, held between four black lacquered metal spindles finished in chrome.

Interior designer Michel Boyer (1935-2011) designed the Rothschild bank in Paris, then the French embassies in Washington and Brasília. He designed the furniture for his projects and distributed it himself through Galerie Rouve. Pearwood is juxtaposed with chrome or lacquered metal: this contrast between light wood and metal runs throughout his work.

"Victoire" model, produced by Rouve around 1988. Each drawer opens across the full width of the cabinet, and the spindles, detached from the sides, allow the piece to be viewed from both the side and the front.
