It is such a pretty pattern, with a beautiful, glossy glaze- very eye catching! 12” diameter, marked Rochard Limoges France. This pattern is designed and manufactured by Philippe Deshoulières, but marked Rochard Limoges France. See Google details below. Please see photos.
"This is a highly sought-after piece from the "Fruits Tropicaux Fond Noir" (Tropical Fruits Black Background) collection. This specific platter perfectly captures how Rochard and Philippe Deshoulières intersect. The collection was designed and manufactured by Philippe Deshoulières. However, because Rochard acted as a prominent premier distributor and importer for luxury French porcelain in the United States, pieces intended for the American market were often stamped "Rochard Limoges France" directly on the base.
The design features a striking trompe l'oeil layout of vibrant tropical fruits—including cut coconuts, bananas, papayas, and kiwis—set against a deep, solid black glaze. This pattern is completely discontinued, making larger serving trays and platters highly collectible for dramatic wall displays or upscale serving." - Google
