An antique porcelain cream pitcher and covered sugar bowl set by Noritake in the discontinued "Chanesta" pattern, dating to circa 1917. This matching set features a delicate cream band decorated with blue scrolling floral medallions and formal geometric borders. Both pieces are finished with elegant double-handled styling and gold gilt trim highlights.
Markings: Both pieces feature the gold Norimura Brothers "M" wreath mark and "Made in Japan." The creamer is stamped with the finalized "U.S. DESIGN PAT. 66454," while the sugar bowl features the slightly earlier transition mark "U.S. DESIGN PAT. APPLIED FOR."
