He produced premium … Read more This is an authentic American woven coverlet, handmade in Pennsylvania by a historic weaver, Emanuel Ettinger (c.1801-1889). He produced premium coverlets from 1834 and 1861. This coverlet is dated 1860 and makes this an especially rare piece from the final years of his weaving career before he became a farmer. Constructed of dyed wool and cotton. Vibrant colors styled with rosettes, floral tiles and stylized border. It is fringed on three edges. Similiar Ettinger coverlets are preserved in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. See less
