Five subtle button details accentuate the curved backrest, giving the chair a distinctive character that feels both elegant and inviting. We recently had the chair reupholstered in a rich chocolate brown velvet, carefully chosen to complement its unusual form. The fabric has a beautiful depth, shifting between warm chocolate and deep espresso depending on the light, with a soft, luxurious texture that brings out the chair's gentle curves. We wanted to give this piece a more sophisticated, slightly moody character while preserving everything that made its original design so appealing. The result is something quietly dramatic, with a sculptural presence that feels equally suited to a thoughtfully collected living room, bedroom, or intimate reading corner. Its compact proportions, enveloping arms, and beautifully shaped back give the chair the character of a traditional lounge chair in a more versatile scale.
