A beautiful example of American craftsmanship, this elegant antique Colonial Revival secretary desk was manufactured by the renowned Robert Mitchell Furniture Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, a distinguished maker of fine-quality furniture dating back to 1847.
Renamed the Robert Mitchell Furniture Company in 1881, the firm earned a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and refined furniture designs before ceasing operations in 1940. This remarkable piece retains its original manufacturer's paper label, offering an authentic connection to its history and desirable provenance.
Showcasing timeless Early American styling, this charming secretary features beautifully figured wood grain, an elegant upper display hutch with open shelving, and a classic drop-front writing surface that provides a practical workspace while maintaining a compact footprint.
A spacious lower drawer offers convenient storage, while the gracefully scalloped apron, traditional wooden drawer pulls, and slender turned legs add sophistication and character to its distinctive silhouette.
Beautifully proportioned and remarkably well preserved, this versatile antique is equally suited for use as a writing desk, decorative display piece, or elegant accent in a home office, bedroom, entryway, or living room.
A wonderful opportunity to own an authentic piece of American furniture-making history, combining timeless elegance, practical functionality, and exceptional craftsmanship.
