Presenting a striking, high-contrast vintage porcelain charger, executed in the Falangcai (Famille Rose) palette.
The background is a vivid, saturated ruby red (or coral red), which provides a dramatic canvas for the dense floral decoration. The center is filled with a lush bouquet of blooming peonies in shades of pink, blue, orange, and yellow, intertwined with bright green foliage. To the right, a gnarled branch of white plum blossoms extends inward, and two delicate butterflies are depicted fluttering above the flowers. In Chinese culture, the peony is the "king of flowers," symbolizing wealth and honor, while butterflies represent joy and longevity.
On the right side, elegant black calligraphy reads "花开富贵" (Hua Kai Fu Gui), which translates to "Blooming Flowers Bring Wealth and Honor," accompanied by a red artist's seal. The rim is finished with a continuous, geometric border in gold and blue.
The base is glazed white and features a red six-character seal mark reading "大清乾隆年製" (Made in the Great Qing Qianlong Period), indicating a later tribute piece. A vintage paper label is also affixed, reading "Robert DUPUY, ANTIQUITÉS - TABLEAUX - OBJETS D'ARTS, 38 rue de Bailleul, Paris", providing excellent provenance that the piece passed through a Parisian antiques dealer.
