Sculptural dining table in different marbles with a square glass top. Italy, 1980s.
The different stones that make up the base are red marble, green Indian marble, white Carrara marble, gray limestone and pietra serena. The glass top is 10 mm thick.
Its design is based on certain elements introduced by Italian Metaphysical painting, spearheaded by Giorgio de Chirico. The use of different marbles lends a painterly quality to the piece, contrasting with the lightness of the glass.
