The sides and top are stained black and hand-polished with shellac, creating a deep, slightly reflective surface that can only be achieved with this technique. The chrome-plated steel tube frame runs vertically up the front edges and closes at the bottom in a runner that lifts the carcase off the floor. The door is hinged on the right. At 47 cm wide and only 25.5 cm deep, with a height of 109.5 cm, the side cabinet fits into a niche, beside a door or in the hallway, where it provides storage without narrowing the passage. Behind the door are shelves for glasses, books or office supplies. The piece is restored and in excellent condition, veneer and shellac polish are intact throughout. See less
