The square top measures 80 by 80 cm, is veneered and lacquered deep black, so the surface looks matt and closed. The frame is made of chrome-plated steel tube, whose four hoops join at the bottom to form a cross and carry the table without aprons. This leaves legroom on all four sides, and the dining table comfortably seats four people although it takes up only one square metre of floor space. For small kitchens and period apartment rooms, that is exactly the advantage over a table with an apron. The height of 70 cm matches the usual seat height. The chrome shows the even patina of ninety years, and the lacquered surface is well preserved. See less
