The legendary Lounge Chair with Ottoman, designed in 1956 by Charles & Ray Eames and manufactured by Vitra in Germany. The Eameses are among the most influential designers of the 20th century; with the Lounge Chair, they created their design for maximum comfort and, at the same time, one of the most famous seating icons in design history, which is still part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
The seat, backrest, and armrests rest on three curved shells made of molded plywood, veneered in Santos rosewood. The vibrant, reddish-brown grain with its dark streaks is reminiscent of the classic rosewood finish of the early decades; the lighter wood layers are subtly visible at the edges. The deep, buttoned cushions are upholstered in soft, cognac-colored leather that harmonizes beautifully with the warm wood tone. The armchair and ottoman stand on swivel bases made of black powder-coated aluminum, with polished edges on the backrest supports. The armchair corresponds to the current Vitra design with a height of 89 cm. Both pieces bear the original Vitra label, and a certificate of authenticity is included.
This is a brand-new item: an ex-display model from our showroom that has never been used, offered at a price significantly below the current retail price.
