A masterfully crafted freestanding coat stand. Exuding timeless elegance, this piece represents a harmonious blend of classic European heritage and sophisticated mid-century design.
The upper section features traditional, steam-bent beechwood hooks, reminiscent of the iconic craftsmanship associated with Thonet. The structure is supported by a sturdy, decoratively fluted solid oak central column, which showcases the beautiful wood grain and superior carpentry. The stable base consists of a heavy, richly ornamented element made from a high-grade composite (a stone-wood-resin agglomerate); beyond providing excellent stability, it captivates with its intricate neoclassical motifs.
For ease of transport and storage, the stand is equipped with a high-quality system of threaded steel connectors and tubes, allowing it to be easily disassembled into individual modules. (Note: the connections appear to have been slightly modified at some point.) This is a truly striking piece of furniture, designed for discerning collectors and exclusive interiors. Specification:
• Total height: 188 cm
• Base diameter: 40 cm
• Materials: solid oak (central pole), steam-bent beechwood (hooks), high-density architectural composite (carved base).
• Condition: excellent vintage condition, with a beautiful natural patina. The piece is fully functional and stable. See less
