Antique column in precious onyx, early 19th century.
This refined column is crafted from onyx, a highly prized material sourced from historic Egyptian quarries. This work is distinguished by its extraordinary chromatic variegation, with shades ranging from green to brown, from white to cream, even touches of purple, creating a vibrant and natural effect.
The column features a simple yet solemn Doric-style base and upper capital, which enhance the elegance of the stone's polychrome veining.
A fascinating early 19th-century piece, perfect as a decorative element, a pedestal for busts or sculptures, or as a furnishing accessory in classic and refined settings.
