A beautifully modeled vintage German porcelain figurine depicting a sleeping or resting fox curled into a tight circle. Designed by acclaimed Hungarian sculptor Anton Sinkó for Rosenthal's Art Department in Selb (Kunstabteilung Selb), this specific piece features a single-dot factory date code confirming its production in 1938.
The animal is rendered in a realistic, naturalistic pose with highly detailed modeling and soft, subtle hand-painted underglaze shading in warm mahogany, dark brown, and cream tones. The surface is finished with a striking high-gloss glaze. The underside is fully marked with the green underglaze Rosenthal factory stamp, along with the incised artist signature "A. SINKÓ" and model catalog number "1542".
