A newly refinished mid century modern expandable walnut and black laminate coffee table designed by John Keal for Brown Saltman, Model 8207, produced in Southern California c. 1960s.
The table features a pair of cubic pedestal bases that support a low-profile walnut top. The two sections slide outward to reveal a recessed black laminate cocktail surface that contrasts nicely with the warmly toned walnut.
Expanding from 66 inches to just under 8 feet (95.5"), the table offers exceptional versatility, making it suitable for sofas of nearly any size. The concealed center section allows it to accommodate larger seating arrangements without sacrificing its clean, minimalist appearance when closed.
The table has been expertly refinished and shows only light traces of prior use. Although there is no Brown Saltman stamp on the table, the model number, 8207, is branded into the underside.
