The rounded, almost spherical body rises to a small, thickly rolled neck, its soft contours covered in a luminous palette of dusty rose, mauve, violet, and creamy white. A stylized apple and whimsical bird's head appear in relief against the mottled pink glaze, with small botanical details completing the playful composition.

The Cloutier brothers established their Paris workshop in 1955, following training with important figures in postwar French ceramics, including Georges Jouve and Pol Chambost. Their collaborative work occupies a distinctive place in French midcentury decorative arts, blending traditional ceramic craftsmanship with poetic, often humorous imagery drawn from nature, animals, and imaginary worlds.
