Barcelona Daybed, designed in 1930 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and manufactured by Knoll International. As the last director of the Bauhaus and one of the most important architects of the 20th century, Mies van der Rohe, with his guiding principle "Less is more," shaped modernism like few others. The Barcelona Daybed is among his most famous furniture designs and is still produced by Knoll in its original form.

The daybed combines strict geometry with the highest quality craftsmanship: The dark walnut frame rests on chrome-plated tubular steel legs, upon which lies the generously sized mattress with its characteristic grid of hand-stitched, tufted leather panels and a matching neck roll. It is upholstered in Knoll's soft, brown Venezia leather, which lends the clean lines a warm, elegant appeal.

Knoll labels are located on the underside of the cushion and on one of the chrome legs. A Knoll certificate of authenticity is also included.

Condition: Display model in near-mint condition – minimal signs of wear, leather, frame, and chrome in excellent condition. An attractive alternative to buying new with a significant discount off the list price. A timeless design classic for sophisticated interiors.

Barcelona daybed, designed in 1930 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and produced by Knoll International. As the last director of the Bauhaus and one of the most important architects of the 20th century, Mies van der Rohe shaped modernism like few others with his maxim “less is more”. The Barcelona Couch is among his best-known furniture designs and is still produced by Knoll in its original form today.
