An iconic Italian Space Age design object from the 1960s
The “Dedalotto” vase, designed by Emma Gismondi Schweinberger for Artemide in the 1960s, is a recognised icon of Italian Space Age and Mid-Century Modern design.
with its sculptural silhouette and distinctive perforated top, this piece balances decorative presence with functional intent, embodying the experimental and forward-looking spirit of Italian design in the post-war period.
Design and material
Produced in high-quality white ABS plastic, the Dedalotto features a smooth, glossy finish that enhances its futuristic character while maintaining a restrained, minimalist elegance.
The perforated upper structure allows for creative floral arrangements—individual stems or structured compositions—while the object remains visually strong even when displayed empty, functioning equally well as a sculptural decorative piece.
