A vintage spanish lidded jar in white glazed ceramic, decorated with broad bands and rhythmic motifs in deep cobalt blue. Its tall, gently swelling profile recalls both traditional tobacco jars and pharmacy albarelli, while the underside provides the documentary detail of an incised signature and date: j. Muñoz, 1987.
description
the rounded ceramic body rises towards a fitted lid with a sculptural knob. Against the white glaze, the blue decoration is arranged in strong horizontal registers, emphasising the vessel’s height and giving its traditional form a bold graphic rhythm.
the lid lifts away to reveal a clean glazed interior. Whether displayed as a decorative object or used for storage, the jar has a substantial, architectural presence, balanced by the freshness of its blue-and-white palette.
